ICC MEMORANDUM-CIRCULAR
During their first meeting on 21 June 2008 in Hong Kong, members of the newly-elected International Coordinating Committee (ICC) took turns in giving their quick assessment of the Third International Assembly (TIA). TO: THE ICC, GENERAL SECRETARIAT, HCC, STUDY COMMISSIONS OR EQUIVALENT, DELEGATIONS AND OTHER ENTITIES PRESENT IN TIA FROM: ICC CHAIRPERSON SUBJECT: ASSESSMENT OF THE TIA THROUGH COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS DATE: 30 JUNE 2008 In this connection, the ICC made a decision to call on its members, the General Secretariat, the Host Country Committee, the study commissions or their equivalent, all delegations and other entities present in the TIA to submit their respective assessments of the TIA to the ICC through the ICG. Accordingly, we request all of you to make comments in order to appreciate as well as to criticize any general or specific aspect of the preparations, the program, conduct, circumstances and immediate aftermath of the TIA and to give the suggestions for improving work or correcting anything that needs to be corrected. We expect a wide variety of comments and suggestions from you because of the different types, levels and scales of your experiences and observations relative to the TIA. But we hope that we can put together all the comments and suggestions to make a well-grounded assessment of the general and specific aspects of the TIA. It is up to you how to write your comments and suggestions on any aspect of whatever type, level or scale within your experience or observation. The most important consideration is that you put forward whatever you think needs to be appreciated in order to be encouraged and whatever is to be criticized for the purpose of correction and improvement. While your memory and notes on the TIA are still fresh, please write your comments and suggestions as soon as possible and submit these to us before the end of July. The new International Coordinating Group (ICG) will consolidate and sum up your comments and suggestions in its first meeting in early autumn 2008. The resultant collective assessment by the ICG will be submitted to the ICC for review and finalization. For the International Coordinating Committee, Professor Jose Maria Sison |
